1750EP Transformer for Tube Guitar Amps

• Designed for drop-in replacement of original units.
• Physically, parts were designed to look similar to original factory units (where possible).
• Materials used & design specs. were kept as close as possible to the original part to preserve the stock "tone".
• Output transformers marked UPGRADE (below) allow for more versatility by added secondary connections that did not exist on the original units.

Note: Difference between the 1750E and 1750EP

• 1750E (bobbin) → More modern construction, good performance, lower cost. Perfectly usable and very common.
• 1750EP (paper) → Closer to classic/vintage winding technique, better measured inductance and leakage figures, and the version most people choose when they want the “more vintage” character for a 5E3 or Princeton-style build.

• The 1750EP has significantly higher primary inductance and much lower leakage inductance. This generally means:

  • Better low-frequency performance / bass response
  • Better high-frequency extension
  • Lower phase shift (advantageous if the amp uses negative feedback)
