Made at the JSC
Svetlana factory in St. Petersburg, Russia. These tubes are now known as
'Winged C's' (or SED in the USA) and have the justifiable reputation as
the best quality tubes in current production in the world.
Russian military
standards and meticulous quality control ensure that these tubes are not
only durable but also deliver the sound quality you expect of the legendary
'SVETS'. These tubes are used as
original equipment by many high quality tube amp makers including: Aguilar
Amplification - Audio Research - Bogner Amplification - Conrad Johnson -
Convergent Audio Technology - Manley Laboratories - Mesa Engineering -
Mutine - Rogue Audio - Thor Audio - Vacuum Tube Logic - VHT Amplification.

6L6GC
The 'Winged C' 6L6GC is a glass envelope beam-power tetrode intended for high-power audio
amplifier service. Close manufacturing specification tolerances and
processing provide high reliability and superior sonic performance.
Design and construction based on the Sylvania 6L6GC/STR387.
Extra rugged construction for use in music amplifiers - thick mica
spacers and extra bracing. Gold-plated grid and precise grid/screen
alignment. Base fits into Fender socket clamps. This is, without a doubt, one of the best
sounding 6L6 types available today and it sounds every bit as rich and
detailed as the original RCA black-plate from the 1960s. This tube
works well in Golden Tube Audio amps, vintage hi-fi gear such as the
McIntosh MC30. SV6L6GCs are available in singles, matched pairs and quads. This tube
is now standard equipment in Mesa-Boogie and many other 6L6 guitar
amplifiers. A recent published Power Tube Taste Test in Guitar Player Magazine rated the WC 6L6GC as the best-sounding new
6L6GC!

6550C
The 'Winged C' 6550C is a significant
improvement over the original GE 6550A. Improvements have been made in
its design that perfectly aligns grids to reduce plate heating. This
tube is powerful sounding with great bass slam, musical mids and
detailed, but not harsh highs. It is built like a tank and will be a
very long-lasting component. More high-end manufacturers use the WC
6550C in their equipment including Audio Research. According to most OEMs, experts and
end-users, this the best new 6550 type available. It is a high power beam power tetrode intended
for ultra-linear audio frequency power amplification service. It has
increased cathode emission from new cathode materials, gold plated
grid with precise grid/screen alignment and gives stable operation
from extended processing and aging.

EL34
(ALSO KNOWN AS 6CA7) The 'Winged C' EL34 is almost
an exact copy of the classic Mullard EL34 Type III and is the perfect
tube for any EL34 hi-fi amplifier - new or vintage, Marshall guitar
amps and other EL34 applications. In fact, Marshall now installs the
WC EL34 in all of their guitar amplifiers. The sound is rich, musical
and detailed. A recent published Power Tube Taste Test in Guitar Player Magazine rated the WC EL34 as the best-sounding new
EL34! It is intended for ultra-linear audio frequency power
amplification service in either pentode or triode connection and
single or push-pull/parallel tube applications. It has an
indirectly-heated oxide cathode, which may be DC operated for absolute
best hum and noise performance. This tube is manufactured to the original Mullard design and gives
electrical and audio performance very similar to that of the original
Mullard EL34.

KT88
The 'Winged C' KT88 is a direct
descendant of the original Gold Lion KT88 from Genalex in the UK. The
tube uses hard and thick glass, the plate structure is similar to the
original Gold Lion with with tri-metal anode plates and screen grid
coolers for cooler operation. Screen grid material is gold-plated to
better control emissions and improve sonics. This tube was designed
at the request of Sidney Corderman, Chief Engineer for McIntosh who is
using them in the legendary MC2000 amplifier. The WC KT88 offers a
significant improvement over any of the current-production KT88s in
terms of sonics and reliability. A perfect match for Dynaco,
McIntosh, Audio Research, Conrad Johnson, Quicksilver, Harman-Kardon
and most new equipment that uses KT88 or 6550 tubes. Available in
precision matched pairs or matched quads. It is a glass-envelope
beam power tetrode. It is intended for audio frequency power
amplification service. Patterned on the original MOV/GEC design, it has the classic British tetrode
sound that the US could not imitate with the 6550. Like other 'Winged
C' power tubes, it has a rugged design, increased cathode emission and
improved grid/screen alignment.
